is an Atlanta-raised, queer Nigerian-American writer-director.

Adesola makes films about Black domestic life, climate reality, and Southern subcultures to examine care and interdependence as essential practices for a livable world.

She is a 2024: Bleecker Street BIPOC Mentorship Fellow, Sundance Press Inclusion Fellow, Georgia Film Impact Grant Winner, and an Resting Narratives of Erasure Directing Fellow at the Visionary Justice Lab in Atlanta where she recently wrote, directed, and made original music for her magical realist short, Sister Salad Days.

The script for Marigold Leaves Her Body, Adesola’s forthcoming short about Black punks and Atlanta house shows, won the Best Narrative Short Script Award at Out on Film Festival and is a finalist for the South Pitch Grant at the 2024 New Orleans Film Festival. 

Adesola received her Masters in Screenwriting & Playwriting from the University of St Andrews in Scotland where she was a Robert T Jones Fellow. For her writing and direction of flounder. a two-act climate catastrophe comedy, she was nominated for Best Play and Best Script at the 2022 Golden Seashell Theater Awards and shortlisted for the St Andrews Enterprising Mind of the Year Award. Adesola book-ended her Masters program with television and film development internships at A24. 

Adesola's work has screened at Diversity at Cannes in France, Deeper Than Movies in London, Millennium Film and No Budge in Brooklyn, At The Rise in Los Angeles, and Cinema Soutterain, Artists Forum, and Cinequeer in her home city of Atlanta.

She is Letterboxd’s East Coast Producer and a Producer’s Assistant at Kashif Incubator.
